Too Hot for Hot Yoga? Think Again.
When summer arrives, it’s common to wonder if it’s time to take a break from hot yoga.
“It’s already hot outside.”
“I’ll start again when it cools down.”
We get it, but summer is actually one of the best times to stay consistent with your practice.
At Modern Yoga, we believe the real benefits of yoga don’t come from a single class. They come from showing up, week after week. That’s the idea behind our Warrior Challenge: building consistency that strengthens both body and mind.

Consistency Is Where Growth Happens
Yoga isn’t about perfect poses, it’s about creating a habit of coming back to your mat.
Some days you’ll feel energized. Other days you’ll simply be glad you showed up. Every class builds strength, improves mobility, and teaches you to stay present through both challenge and ease.
As we like to say:
Keep showing up, it adds up.
Why Practice Hot Yoga in the Summer?
It’s a fair question. If it’s ninety degrees and sticky outside, why step into a heated room? The answer is control. Summer heat in Northeast Ohio is unpredictable and draining, and it rarely helps you do anything but wilt. The heat in our studios is different, because it’s intentional.
Our heated studios use far infrared heat, which warms your body directly instead of just heating the air around you. It stays steady and consistent, and it’s paired with movement and breath. Warm muscles move further and more safely, your joints loosen, and your body works with the heat instead of bracing against it. A hot parking lot will never do that for you.
There’s a benefit that follows you out the door, too. Practicing in the heat helps your body get better at handling heat, so a walk to the car or an afternoon in the sun starts to feel more manageable as the summer goes on.
The heat isn’t the goal. It’s a tool. And in the summer it does one more thing that matters: it keeps you in a rhythm. Vacations and busy schedules are exactly what pull people off their mat, and starting over in the fall is a lot harder than staying connected now.
More Than a Workout

Many people come for the sweat. They stay because of how they feel afterward.
More grounded.
Less stressed.
Better rested.
More connected to themselves.
Research suggests that regular yoga practice can help reduce stress, improve sleep, and support overall well-being. Combined with intentional movement and breath, heated yoga offers a chance to reset both physically and mentally.
That’s why our philosophy has always been simple:
Come for the workout. Stay for the yoga.
The Warrior Challenge
The Warrior Challenge isn’t about being perfect or attending every class.
It’s about building momentum.
Each class is a reminder that small, consistent actions create lasting change. Whether your goal is to build strength, improve flexibility, reduce stress, or simply make time for yourself, consistency is what gets you there.
Keep Showing Up
Summer won’t last forever, but the habits you build now can.
Whether you’re participating in the Warrior Challenge or simply committing to your own practice, every class is an investment in your health, your mindset, and your community.
We’ll be here, ready when you are.
Come for the workout. Stay for the yoga.
Common Questions About Summer Hot Yoga
Isn’t it too hot to do hot yoga in the summer?
It’s a fair question, but the heat in our studios is controlled and intentional, which is very different from the unpredictable heat outside. Our far infrared heat warms your body directly and stays steady, so your muscles loosen and you can breathe and move safely. Many students find that practicing through the summer actually makes the heat outside feel easier to handle.
What temperature are the studios?
Our rooms are heated, and how warm they run depends on the class you choose. You can see how each class is heated on our class types page, from our hottest Hot Power Yoga to our warm, slower YinSuana.
How often should I practice in the summer?
Consistency matters more than intensity. Even two or three classes a week is enough to hold onto the strength, mobility, and calm you have built. The goal is simply to keep showing up, because it adds up.
I’m new to yoga. Is hot yoga a good place to start?
Yes. All levels are welcome, and you can rest or modify any pose whenever you need to. Our Vinyasa and Foundations classes are a gentle place to begin, and every teacher is there to help you feel comfortable. Come for the workout, stay for the yoga.
