My personal journey with yoga began after I finished college. I played football and baseball collegiately and had always enjoyed team sports. After those team sports I was on the search for an exercise routine that was practical, challenging, wholistic, simple, and sustainable. I soon picked up running and yoga. I started practicing yoga in the privacy of my own home for about a year then worked up the courage to take a group yoga class.
What do I love about yoga? I first was intrigued by the physical practice and body control in yoga. What I have learned to love is what yoga does for my body, mind and soul. I love how the well-rounded practice of yoga benefits myself physical and mental strength, flexibility, and balance. I am grateful for the focus, curiosity, and calm yoga has brought to my life. The awareness and mindfulness of yoga has allowed me to practice the journey of life to be authentically myself. With the gift of yoga, I have learned to listen to my inner voice, trust my inner wisdom, and be my inner light.
