I remember starting to practice yoga about 10 years ago, I did it for the relaxation and added flexibility. However doing it once a week really didn’t change my life that much, I was just going through the motions. I remember being relaxed that night after I left but really didn’t carry that zen through out the week with me. I worked full time and had 2 small children….fast forward and suddenly I’m retired with an empty nest. I think back on those years and it’s all a blur…I was living my life in auto pilot. When I retired, my yoga practice increased and I learned about living my life in a more mindful manner. I’ve learned it’s never to late to reinvent yourself. My favorite pose is headstand because I just recently learned to do it, learning… you should never doubt what you are capable of!
As a yoga teacher I really want my students to leave with a sense of mindfulness that they can carry with them while stressing the importance of taking time for yourself.
