Amanda was born in Mullens, a small coal mining town in West Virginia. When the coal industry slowed down, her family moved and eventually ended up in Cleveland, Ohio!
Growing up, Amanda stayed busy with dance and gymnastics. She started competing at 8 years old and as an adult began coaching to put herself through Cosmetology School. “I loved the beauty industry, and wanted to share my knowledge with other stylists. I then auditioned to become an educator for Aquage Hair Products. I worked in a salon and traveled with Aquage to educate and perform as a platform artist.”
Decided to revisit her love for fitness, Amanda began competing where she earned her pro card, was invited to compete in the Arnold Classic and even finished 9th in the entire world!!
Current day, Amanda is a mother of two beautiful children…her daughter age 26 and son 22. She also co-owns two successful fitness facilities with her husband, Joe.

What inspired you to become a yoga teacher?
“I started practicing back in 2010. While I loved it, I always felt something was missing. Waiting for the right time to deep dive in, I finally realized the right time would probably never come and I just decided to make it happen. After going through Modern Yoga’s YTT program, I knew I wanted to be a part of their community. My connection with yoga continues to grow and change and it has been a wonderful journey.”
What is one piece of advice for your students?
“Always try new things, even if think you won’t enjoy it. You may be surprised!”
“Also…try different instructors!! You can always have your favorites, but don’t deprive yourself of the opportunity for new and different experiences.”
What inspires you to get on your mat?
“Craving stillness and quiet and the opportunity to focus internally. It doesn’t matter if I had a good day or bad I always have my practice that excepts me know matter what mood I’m in.”
