Teacher Spotlight

Teacher Spotlight: Tiffany

“Hi, I’m Tiffany. I’m always up for an adventure—whether it’s a road trip or a faraway journey.”

That pretty much says it all.

Tiffany moves through life with curiosity, energy, and a deep appreciation for the moment she’s in. She loves snacks (lots of snacks), coffee, and has spent nearly six years baking and living without processed refined sugar—sweetening life instead with honey and maple syrup. She’s always been someone who stays busy, who “likes to live each moment to the fullest,” and who finds joy in both movement and connection.

At home, that energy continues. An only child raising an only child, Tiffany has filled her world with animals, family, and constant motion. Alongside her partner Brian—who “keeps me spoiled and cooks some amazing meals”—she spends time rock climbing and traveling to their home in West Virginia near the New River Gorge, a place she describes as “magical.”

But her story didn’t always look the way it does now.

“I definitely used to be the wild child of the group.”

Finding Yoga Beyond the Mat

In 2020, Tiffany was diagnosed with breast cancer. What followed was a period that shifted everything—her pace, her priorities, and her relationship to herself.

Yoga had already been part of her life, but it began to deepen in ways she didn’t expect.

“Really I found the 8 limbs of yoga without even knowing what they were.”

“I started practicing yoga for the fitness aspect. Then I discovered the breath. Then, without even realizing it—meditation.”

What began as movement became awareness. What began on the mat began to expand into everything else.

When COVID hit and her diagnosis followed, her physical practice paused—but her connection to yoga didn’t.

“I realized yoga didn’t have to take place on the mat. I found bits of yoga everywhere.”

“As I learned more about yoga through my practice, I began to learn more about myself.”

After a year of healing, Tiffany returned to the mat with a new perspective—one rooted in gratitude, presence, and self-discovery.

“I will never take for granted the ability to do something after having gone through a period in time in which I did not have that.”

A turning point came during a Modern Yoga retreat to Costa Rica in 2024. It was there something clicked.

“I knew I needed to learn more about yoga.”

Soon after, she enrolled in teacher training.

“It’s beautiful, it’s personal, it’s pure. Being any part of sharing yoga is something I’m grateful for each day.”

Teaching From Experience

Now a 200-hour certified teacher, Tiffany brings her lived experience into every class. Her teaching blends mindful movement with breath while creating space for students to explore their own internal experience.

She encourages her students to trust themselves:

“Listen to your body and mind in the present moment, in each pose, and in the present moment. Only you can experience what you feel physically and emotionally.  Follow that guidance.”

In Her Practice

Right now, she’s drawn to Tree Pose.

“I love the stillness and I love balance. Tree pose is a place I can find a little insight.”

There’s something about standing steady, breathing deeply, and staying present that reflects her entire journey.

“Focusing on stillness while allowing full Ujjayi breath feels powerful and calm at the same time.”

Outside the Studio

Tiffany’s passions stretch far beyond the mat:

  • Rock climbing—indoors and outdoors in West Virginia
  • Thrift shopping (“I literally could go every day”)
  • Baking refined sugar-free recipes
  • Music, concerts, and discovering new artists
  • Animals—lots of them (cats, dogs, frogs, and more over the years)

“If I won the lottery, I would have a wildlife rehab and rescue center.”

A Life Fully Lived

When asked where she’d live if she could choose anywhere in the world, her answer is simple:

“Right where I am now.”

Because for Tiffany, it’s not about escaping—it’s about continuing to build a life she loves.

One that’s full, present, evolving, and always open to the next adventure.

(With snacks, of course.)
